Jeff Sun, MBA, PCC works with executives, entrepreneurs, and curious humans to examine themselves and the world around them so they get to do what they really want each day with more boldness, joy, and purpose.
He has coached over 170 leaders including executive officers, solopreneurs, start-up founders, doctors, lawyers, creative directors, non-profit directors, college professors, retirees, venture capitalists, and other coaches.
Prior to coaching, Jeff spent the majority of his career incubating and building early to late-stage start-ups. He’s lived and worked across the world on four continents. Jeff’s worn-many-hats life has allowed him a deep appreciation, respect, and empathy for the nuance and complexity that his diverse clients bring to their work.
Most recently, he was the CEO and co-founder of Circular Impact, a venture-backed start-up working to remove carbon emissions through organic waste management in sub-Saharan Africa.
Jeff took a year-long life reset in 2022, studying vipassana meditation, working as a ceramics artist, and learning to live life from energetic flow rather than traditional time management.
From 2017 to 2021, Jeff led global operations at Sonder, a hospitality start-up transforming the way people stay around the world. He joined as the 30th employee and scaled global operations to over thirty-five cities across three continents and 15 countries. Sonder went public in 2022 with nearly 2,000 global employees.
Jeff was one of the first General Managers of Prime Now, Amazon’s one-hour delivery start-up. He scaled markets in Northern California, Nevada, and Arizona, and helped lead the 2016 Amazon sponsorship of the San Francisco 49ers.
Jeff started his career as an engagement manager at the Monitor Group, a global strategy consulting firm where he advised Fortune-50 companies and global governments. He was also one of the first employees at the One Acre Fund, where he scaled climate change adaptation solutions with rural farmers. Today, the One Acre Fund serves millions of farmers across the world and is held as a gold standard for effective development intervention.
Jeff holds a BA with distinction from Yale University, and a MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he was a Siebel Scholar. He holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation from the International Coaching Federation, and trained with the Hudson Institute of Coaching.
Jeff lives in San Francisco.
Jeff is a really special listener. He brings curiosity and openness, as well as a willingness to share perspectives sourced through his own experience of self-discovery. When exploring my inner life, musings, and struggles together during coaching work, I've found Jeff to be a much-valued, much-welcome companion. He's challenged me and pointed my attention to interesting, productive places.
Jeff is unrelenting in his desire to help his clients unearth truths about themselves and how they want to show up in the world. He probes to get to the underlying, often truer answers during sessions, and he is a great partner in pushing his clients to think through their motivations. Our work together helped me shape a lot of the thoughts about what I wanted my next career move to be. He helped me think through how I want to show up in the world and translate that into action.
If you are lucky enough to encounter Jeff in your life, consider yourself a privileged person. I had the opportunity to work with Jeff last year. In a very short period of time, he helped me realize what things were important to me and how to reprioritize life goals. He is incredibly friendly, kind, non-judgmental and most importantly, talented at asking the right questions to help guide you.
Jeff is a remarkable coach whose essence is defined by kindness, positivity, openness, intelligence, and unwavering support. With his warm and empathetic nature, he creates a safe and judgment-free space for his clients to explore their goals and aspirations with thought-provoking questions and active observations of his clients, listening with a present mind and heart.
Jeff is a very talented coach: he's kind, he's smart, and he's helpful. I've been able to better manage my professional obligations, make smarter decisions, and have found ways to maximize the parts of my job that I love (and minimize the parts I don't). I'm happier, less busy, and more satisfied in terms of what I get done. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat.
As a coach, Jeff met me without judgment, and was ready to dig into the challenges I was facing. I can now more easily identify when fear and negative emotions are holding back my best-self, and I have new tools to manage and work through them. I find myself a wiser leader for my organization, a stronger coach for my team, and a healthier influence on the people and friends around me.
My individual clients are highly successful individuals who are up to big and bold things in their worlds. They come to me because while things are often "good," they want to lead a life of "great."
I’ve coached a wide range of leaders including executive officers, solopreneurs, start-up founders, doctors, lawyers, creative directors, non-profit directors, college professors, retirees, venture capitalists, and other coaches.
Together, we'll get clear on what extraordinary looks like for you and design a program to help you get there.
Packages range from 3 to 12 months and start at $5,000.
I support business partners, founder teams, start-up accelerators, and organizations as they navigate conflict, change, and growth.
I draw on my training as a coach and years of experience as a CEO and start-up operator leading large global teams.
